Gabrielle Bisson (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker offering assessment, therapy and case management supports to adults and adolescents (age 12 and up).  Her areas of focus include:

Assessment and Therapy

With each new client, Gabrielle will complete a mental health assessment to assist in identifying the primary issue(s) and developing an appropriate treatment plan.  Gabrielle uses an eclectic approach that is developed specifically for the expressed needs of each individual client.  Therapeutic techniques include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, strengths-based perspective and solution-focused therapy.  Gabrielle is also approved NIHB (Non-insured health benefit) provider through Indigenous Services Canada. Treatment forms may change along with the needs of the client, ensuring the most effective and efficient therapeutic plan is achieved.

Gabrielle is supervised by a registered clinical psychologist, Dr. Erin Ross (Certificate of Registration #5422, The College of Psychologists of Ontario).  At any time you may request to meet or to discuss your treatment with her supervisor.

Education/Experience

Gabrielle has been providing therapeutic and case management services in a variety of settings for over 18 years.  Gabrielle has extensive experience working with youth and adolescents in both the child welfare and multi-disciplinary health care systems.  Her experience also includes providing individual counselling for youth and adults, counselling support for parents and families and case management within the health care, education and mental health setting.    

Gabrielle completed her Bachelors in Social Work at Laurentian University (2004) and Masters in Social Work at Lakehead University (2008).  She is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.  Past social work experience includes: Family Services Worker and Child Protection Worker at Family and Children's Services of Renfrew County and Family and Children's Services of Waterloo Region; Pediatric Case Manager at Waterloo-Wellington CCAC; Social Worker (providing individual therapy services with a focus on children and adolescents) at the North Perth Family Health Team.

Fees

Individual services (assessment and therapy) are $130 per hour payable by e-transfer or credit card. Receipts provided. As with all supervised cases, fees are made payable to my supervisor, Dr. Erin Ross. Therapy services are covered by most extended health benefit packages.

Serving Huron, Bruce and Perth Counties, including Port Elgin, Listowel, Palmerston, Minto, Mount Forest, Wingham and area.
